Brickwork Diploma Level 1 at Hull College Group

Course description

The Brickwork Diploma will develop your trowel skills to construct modern building structures.

During the course you will have support of specialist brickwork staff, working in an outstanding, modern and well-equipped workshop.

This course is full time/part time, 16/15 hours per week, including a mix of practical sessions, job knowledge sessions and functional skill classes. The course is approx.
70% practical, plus 30% job knowledge and assessments.

  • Working Platforms ~ Tower Rigs
  • Maths and English

Entry requirements

  • No formal qualifications are required although it is a requirement that you have an interest in the construction industry.
  • Students who do not have English as their first language will need ESOL at Level 1.

Assessment

Assessment is on-going.

  • 7 Practical end tests
  • 7 online unit tests

Financial information

  • Students will be required to provide their own safety boots, overalls and stationery equipment.  Safety footwear must be worn in all workshops.  We do not allow the use of safety trainers.
  • Students will also be required to purchase a Hull College polo shirt for the course (approx. £8).  Information regarding this will be provided at interview.

Future opportunities

Successful completion will allow progression on to the Level 2 Brickwork.
