Plastering - Level 2 Diploma at Redcar & Cleveland College

Course description

The course is designed to prepare students for work, and gives them the opportunity to develop the necessary skills and knowledge required to work in the plastering industry. The level 2 Diploma in plastering is made up of a number of units as well as a synoptic practical assessment. Candidates must successfully complete all units and the synoptic practical assessment as well as a separate online theory test.

Course content

In our plastering workshops we provide excellent facilities that give our students the opportunity to work to a realistic scale. Our plasterers have the chance to plaster full size walls and ceilings and this enables them to show potential employers that they are capable of working on large areas. We invite plastering companies who are looking for apprentices to visit and view the work being undertaken. We also take part in college competitions such as Skill Build and World Skills plus trips to British Gypsum one of the largest Plastering manufacturers in Europe.

Entry requirements

Four GCSE’s at grades D-E or above, or a Diploma in Plastering Level 1. Students will be expected to attend an interview and there is a English/Maths aptitude test.


Practical tests in the plastering workshop and work knowledge questions in the classroom.

Financial information

All students must supply boots and coveralls for the practical workshop sessions And in the main part of the college dress casual

Future opportunities

If successful you can then progress onto level 3 in plastering.
