Travel and Tourism with Applied Business Skills BTEC Level 2 Diploma at Burnley College
This course provides Level 2 students with a broad foundation in Business, Travel and Tourism studies. This bespoke programme of study equips students a skill set that is relevant to the needs of the industry with the academic qualifications to enhance both their employability and widen their progression choices for future study.
The course covers a wide range of topics, including Brand Promotion and Personal Selling in Business; Airport and Airline Operations; Principles of Customer Service; Front Office Operations; and Finance and Business Enterprise.
A Thomas Cook Airlines External Certificate is also an optional part of the course subject to availability, where students will learn and demonstrate airline emergency fire procedures and how to evacuate an aircraft, perfect for those students wishing to enhance their CV for future airline and airport applications.
Students have access to a Travel Training Suite fully equipped with a mock Travel Agency, Hotel/ Airport check-in desk, P.A system, Telephone and an Aircraft Cabin and Galley area. The experience of our tutors covers a wide range of the Travel and Tourism industry. Burnley College’s teaching staff have links with major organisations such as internationally recognised hotels, cruise ships, airlines, airports and travel agencies.
Two GCSEs at grade C or above including English Language OR a relevant Level 1 Foundation qualification in a relevant subject and a GCSE grade C in English Language.
There are 2 external assessments, two exams and the remaining units are continually assessed throughout the course by a variety of assessment methods from case studies, role plays and practical demonstration of skills.
The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Hospitality, Events, Travel and Tourism.
