BTEC First Certificate in Media at St Bonaventure's RC School

Course description

Why should I study this subject? I am interested in the different forms of media: film, TV, computer games, advertising, radio, photography, newspapers, recorded music and the internet and I would like to find out more about them and their production. What will I get at the end of the course? You will have a greater understanding of media production, especially video production, gaming and research. The BTEC First Certificate in Media is equivalent to two GCSE A*-C grades. What will I do on the course? You will develop research techniques into all aspects of media production. You will learn the techniques and technology of video-based production work, planning, producing and editing your own film. You will learn the techniques of analysing and reviewing computer games, considering the history of computer games and how they have developed, comparing different games.

Future opportunities

This short course offers you a specialist qualification for working in areas of the media. It could lead onto other vocational qualifications such as a BTEC National Certificate or Diploma in Media or an NVQ or Apprenticeship programme related to media, p
