Extended Project Qualification at Cheney School

Course description

The Extended Project is an opportunity to research and analyse any topic of your choice not directly covered in one of your A Levels. You will be given some whole class teaching in research methods and individual tutorial support, but most of the 100 hours you spend on your project will be carried out individually.

Course Structure

After attending the Year Thirteen presentation evening in October 2014, you will choose a topic in November/December, research it until March, take a break for AS exams, and then continue research and write up from mid-June to September 2015, presenting your work to staff, students and parents in October 2015.

You are assessed on your essay (or product if you choose to make something), your presentation, and on the progress log you will keep recording your work. The Extended Project is the equivalent of an AS Level.
