NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership - Level 3 at South Thames College

Course description

This course will suit you if you already have commercial experience. You might already supervise others or manage resources in a part-time job. The course will improve your knowledge and skills, perhaps to move into a management role within the sector. At this level, you'll complete two core units working predominantly in our commercial restaurant. The course includes supervisory experience as you manage students on our Level 1 and 2 courses. Through classroom assignments, you'll learn the theory to underpin your experience. You'll be working in Taste, our commercial restaurant with paying customers.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs grades A*-C or a related Level 2 qualification at least at merit. A passion for excellent customer service and good communication skills.


Practical assessment and written assignments.

Future opportunities

You'll be able to move into work as a restaurant supervisor, banqueting supervisor, events and conference coordinator, reception supervisor or wedding coordinator. You could also continue on to a HNC or HND at South Thames College or elsewhere.

Further information

There is a fee to cover the cost of materials you'll use during the course. You'll need to buy a uniform to wear in the kitchen or restaurant. Your tutor will confirm the cost of this when you come in for interview.
