Agriculture Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at Bicton College

Course description

This programme is viewed by the industry as a stepping stone in education and training of those seeking a career with responsibility for a farm or agricultural unit, combining agricultural knowledge and management expertise.

The course is an effective alternative to gaining an A-level and will allow you to progress to an Extended Diploma to broader you knowledge further and open up a wide range of career opportunities in agriculture and related industries.

Course content

Students will study a range of subjects spanning key aspects of agriculture including:

- Livestock production

- Crop production

- Science- Animal science and plant science

- Estate skills

- Maintenance and operation of agricultural machinery

Entry requirements

It is essential that your Initial Assessment results show that you are working at Level 2. Ideally you will have achieved 4 GCSEs at grades A–C, including English Language, Maths and two Sciences or equivalent.

Future opportunities

Continue your studies onto the Extended Diploma in Agriculture, which will further widen and deepen your agricultural knowledge and skills.
