BTEC Business & Enterprise Level 2 Certificate at Nottingham Academy

Course description


The BTEC Level 2 certificate in Business and Enterprise could

provide a starting point of a route into employment in many of

the diverse areas of business, including roles in specialist

areas such as marketing, finance, customer service or human

resources in large businesses or a more generic role in a small

local business.

Course content

The course will cover the essential knowledge and skills

required in the business sector, including marketing, finance and running a business.

Units covered

1. Introduction to business.

2. Marketing for Business and Enterprise.

3. Finance for Enterprise.

4. Plan, develop and participate in a business or

enterprise project.

Entry requirements

Usually 5 GCSEs at grade D/E or above however, applications will be

taken into consideration depending on previous educational background.


Assessment is through producing a portfolio of coursework.

Coursework could consist of essays reports, posters and

leaflets. Unit 2 is an externally assessed module. Within Unit 4

students will plan and participate in a business or

enterprise project.

Future opportunities

The BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Business and Enterprise will aid

a student in developing their knowledge of business and could

lead on to level 3 study as well as aiding students who seek

employment particularly in the business sector.
