Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles - Level 3 Diploma at Yorkshire Coast College
The Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is ideal if you have successfully completed the Level 2 Diploma and will improve you skills even further, perfectly equipping you for a successful career in the industry.
This programme will focus on developing the knowledge and skills needed to test and diagnose faults and carry out the necessary repairs.
The course will include the following units:
- Advanced Chassis Technology
- Advanced Engine Technology
- Advanced Transmission Technology
- Advanced Electrical and Electronic Technology
- Knowledge of Inspecting Light Vehicles Using Prescribed Methods
- Knowledge of Support for Job Roles in the Automotive Environment
- Knowledge of Materials, Fabrication, Tools and Measuring Devices used in the Automotive Environment
Students will also develop their literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
Completion of a Level 2 Motor Vehicle programme at credit or higher and Functional Skills English and Maths at Level 2 or 3 GCSEs Grade C or above including Science, Maths and English.
After successful competition of the Level 3 Diploma you would be perfectly placed to enter the world of work or, for those who would like to learn at a higher level or develop their skills for first line management there is the opportunity to progress onto
the Level 4 Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
There are also many Universities across the UK offering degree programmes that could see you specialising in Automotive Engineering or Motorsport.
The possibilities are endless for someone with a Motor Vehicle qualification and a career in this industry could see you as an Automotive Technician, working in a dealership, becoming a Service Manager or even working in Motorsport.
The local average wage on entry into a career in Motor Vehicle – depending on qualification – is £11,000 - £16,000
