Occupations Plastering - BTEC Level 2 Construction at Cordeaux Academy

Course description

This 1 year course covers all the knowledge and

skills to start a career as a Plasterer.

Your course will include:

Health and Safety

Structure of the construction industry

Sustainability in construction

Construction Processes and Operations for

• Low-rise buildings

Construction Drawing Techniques •

Plastering and dry lining

Rendering

Laying floors •

Wall and floor tiling •

Learners may be given the opportunity to obtain the CSCS card.

Learners will also undertake suitable literacy,

numeracy and employability qualifications alongside this course if they do not already possess these.

Entry requirements

Level 1 in Construction or associated Plastering course or:

Relevant industry experience

Successful assessment and interview

It may be possible for suitably qualified

individuals to fast-track from Level 1 to 2 within the same academic year.

Future opportunities

Successful completion of the Level 2 course and the achievement of GCSE English, Maths and a Science may allow learners to progress to Level 3, which is primarily a site supervisors

qualification. Success at Level 2 including Functional Skills can lead to acceptance as an apprentice or into employment.
