Core Mathematics at The Sixth Form College Colchester

Course description

Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) is a new qualification designed for students who have achieved a grade C or above in GCSE Mathematics. It helps to further develop students' mathematical skills and thinking and supports courses such as AS/A level Psychology, Science, Geography, Business or Economics. Core Maths is a brand new course which is intended for students who are keen to extend their GCSE Maths skills for future study or work, but are not planning on taking Mathematics at AS or A Level. At the end of the one-year course, you will receive a Level 3 certificate in Mathematics Studies equivalent to AS level study). Studying Mathematics in context through Core Maths will equip you with a number of transferable skills recognised by universities and employers alike. 

Entry requirements

Standard college entry requirements plus a grade C (or 4) in GCSE mathematics.
