Level 3 National Award in Art and Design (Textiles) at King Charles I School

Course description

This course is highly creative and students will be allowed to work in many different ways. Projects range from experimental Textiles to fashion based projects.

Botanical Textiles Art Work Assignment
This unit will allow students to experiment with a range of different Textiles and art techniques culminating in the production of a piece of 2D, 3D or 4D textiles art work for the botanical gardens.

1930's Hollywood Assignment
This unit will give an opportunity to look at the history of fashion and art, students will produce a range of 1930’s inspired Hollywood accessories of their choice.

Above are two examples of the units offered showing a versatile and broad course offering many different opportunities in the Textiles area. Students will also have to complete a further four units.

Entry requirements

The course is for anyone with an interest in Textiles, Fashion, Art and Design or Interior design, even if you have not taken these subjects at GCSE level.

This course will give excellent progression from either GCSE Textiles or Art and prepares students for Higher and further education.
