Health & Social Care BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate at Foxford School and Community Arts College

Course description

The BTEC level 3 Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care is undertaken over two years.

Students can be awarded Distinction *, Distinction, Merit or pass grades.

Course content

There are four units to complete two mandatory and two optional units:

Year 1

  • Unit: Human Lifespan and development.
    (Mandatory and externally assessed 1.5 hr paper based exam)
  • Unit 5: Meeting individual care and support needs.
    (Internally assessed by a series of tasks set by your tutor)

Year 2

  • Unit 2: Working in Health and Social Care.
    (Mandatory and externally assessed 1.5 hr paper based exam)
  • Unit 11: Psychological Perspectives:
    (Internally assessed. Your tutor will provide you with assessment tasks.

Entry requirements

5 x A*-C grades at GCSE
