Pottery BTEC Level 3 Award at Sutton College of Learning for Adults - SCOLA

Course description

This course will include the following topics: The course consists of units from BTEC level 3 Design Crafts Diploma short course framework. Each unit is approximately of one term duration. In Year 1, 2 units lead to an award. In Year 2, a further 2 units lead to a certificate and a total of 5 to the diploma. Students will research design and work in a variety of techniques; whilst not a necessity an ability in throwing is desirable.

Entry requirements

The course is not suitable for beginners. Applicants should be able to show ability in basicforming techniques. Students should have some ability to work in two dimensions for design purposes. School leavers should have GCSE or equivalent in a relevant subject. Mature students will be expected to be able to show work of at least GCSE Grade C standard. It is essential that students are willing to undertake a substantial amount of work out of studio time.
