Course description

Travel and Tourism is one of the world’s fastest growing industries. If you are interested in a career in tourism or a customer focused business, then this is the right course for you!

You will have the opportunity to gain an in depth knowledge and understanding of the UK Travel and Tourism industry and what it entails, how successful customer service is delivered, just why the UK appeals as a Tourist Destination and an overview into the range of employment opportunities available in this sector. You will have the opportunity to visit a range of travel and tourism businesses to diversify the learning experience and provide you with additional knowledge.

Coursework will be presented in portfolio format through a range of assessment opportunities. You will study 3 units in the first year to gain the Level 3 National Certificate and a further 3 in the second year to give you the Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Travel and Tourism. Assessment evidence will be produced using a wide range of methods, including report writing, presentations, role play, observation and witness statements.

The course provides a fantastic progression route for those who have studied Level 2 Travel and Tourism. Equally, it is an exciting option for those with no prior knowledge.

This course will help you prepare for employment in hotels and hospitality, travel agencies, airline, airport, events and visitor attractions. It is also the ideal course for those wishing to study Tourism and Hospitality in Higher Education.

Entry requirements

Students following level 3 courses will require 5 Cs or above including English and Mathematics.
