Art and Design Diploma/Extended Diploma Level 3 at New College Stamford
Gain a career in the creative industry with this attractive alternative to A Levels. Deepen your knowledge of Art and Design and experiment with a range of specialisms. You will explore visual language, research skills, project proposal and realisation and build your critical and contextual awareness through a series of live projects. You will have the opportunity to take part in weekly life drawing classes to develop your observational, figurative and mixed media skills.At Level 3 you will have the opportunity to visit New York on a 5 day residential as well as regular project related trips throughout the year. 5 GCSEs at grades C or above, including an arts based subject at grade B or above, end English preferably maths at grades C/4 or above, or a Merit in a relevant Level 2 Diploma. A Merit in your first year is required to enter the second year Extended Diploma.
Asssesment is completed through a portfolio of evidence which will be internally assessed. You can utilise your porfolio to take to University or job interviews to showcase your abilities.
On successful completion of this course you can progress on the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design or Foundation Degrees in Graphic Design and Creative and Editiorial Photography at New College Stamford or other creative degrees at University. You could also progress to careers in the Creative Arts industry such as a Self- employed Artist, Art Worker, Art Directors, Art Therapist, Teacher, Advertising Consultant.
You will require an initial art pack costing £40 in September.
