Health & Social Care BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate at Lakes College West Cumbria

Course description

This course is for those who would like to further develop their knowledge of care principles and work towards a qualification that will help them gain employment in the industry This course will instill core principles of best practice including diet nutrition psychology and activity setting for groups Students will be expected to complete a work placement as part of their qualification. Maths and English will be at the core of your study programme.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs A*-D including English and Maths or Level 1 in a relevant subject. You will also need a DBS Check

Financial information

Free to all 16-18 and 19-23 year olds who do not already have a full level 2 qualification e.g 5 GCSE's grade A*-C. Also free to learners who are in receipt of JSA (Job Seekers Allowance) ESA ((Employment Support Allowance, (work related activity)) or Universal Credit (mandated). Where fees are payable you can set up a payment plan that best suits your needs

Future opportunities

Once you have successfully completed the Level 2 course with a merit profile, you could progress onto a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or seek employment within the industry.
