PHOTOGRAPHY at Steyning Grammar School

Course description

In the first year you will learn how to use manual film SLR and digital SLR cameras, how to develop and print black and white photographs and digital colour. You will experiment with a range of photographic processes and techniques, including pin-hole photography, montage, digital techniques, image manipulation and printing. You will learn how to present your work effectively to communicate your ideas, record the development of your ideas in sketchbooks and work journals, reflect upon your own learning and analyse the work of other photographers. In the second year you will become increasingly independent. Whilst working personal coursework, in the photographic studio, you will continue to build on your technical knowledge and critical understanding culminating in an exhibition of your personal portfolio.
