Geography A Level at The John Henry Newman RC School

Course description

• Geography is the study of the Earth’s landscapes, people
and places. It recognises the great differences in cultures,
political systems, economics, and environments across the
world and the links between them.
• AS Course – This includes the study of rivers, floods,
cold environments, population change, energy and
geographical skills. In Year 12 students also take part in a
residential field trip to Snowdonia, Wales.
• A2 Course – This includes plate tectonics, volcanoes,
earthquakes, weather and climate, world cities,
development and globalisation. In Year 13 students also
visit London for a day of fieldwork.

Entry requirements

Five Grade B passes at GCSE, including Geography
