Course description

Further Mathematics is a very impressive A Level to have on your CV. It is not as difficult as you may think and indeed is very enjoyable and rewarding. You will widen and deepen your knowledge in Pure Mathematics, Statistics and Mechanics, as well as learning about Decision Mathematics.

Course content

By taking this course you will:

  • Deepen your knowledge and understanding of Mathematics generally
  • Be able to study a wider range of topics
  • Further develop your problem solving and analytical skills
  • Increase your success at university in mathematics based subjects like Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Physics and Mathematics.

Mathematical ability is a very valuable asset. Make the most of it. Studying Further Mathematics will:

  •  Make many standard topics seem easier
  •  Provide a stimulating experience
  •  Develop areas of cerebral cortex untouched by other subjects

Entry requirements

Students will be expected to have achieved at least a grade A in GCSE Mathematics, having taken the higher tier examination.
In addition, students entering this subject would be expected to have achieved a minimum of four A grades at GCSE.
