Course description

Mathematics is one of the most highly respected and demanding A-Level courses and provides the foundation for the study of any scientific subject as well as a challenge in logical thinking and problem solving. There are plenty of opportunities in modern life for well qualified Maths students in many areas of work, as well as the traditional areas of science, engineering, finance and business. Students at Teesdale follow the Edexcel suite of examinations and are assessed by the following six equally-weighted module examinations: three in Year 12 and a further three in Year 13.

Core Mathematics 1 – 4: Advanced algebraic skills, co-ordinate geometry and calculus

Mechanics 1: Newton's laws of motion, friction and how particles move and interact

Statistics 1: Probability theory and introduction to advanced statistical techniques
