Health and Social Care Apprenticeship Advanced Level 3 at Southampton City College

Course description

This apprenticeship is suitable for you if you want to start a career or develop your existing skills in working in Health & Social Care. This apprenticeship is a work based learning programme that provides a structured development route to give you the skills the industry requires.

Suitable job roles

For those who are a senior support, middle management, supports people on a one to one basis or takes the lead or responsibility for an area within the work place, for example:

Care Manager
Day Care Manager
Senior Healthcare Assistant
Senior Support Worker

Course content

The qualification is applicable to those who deliver physical, emotional or enabling care to clients and is suitable wherever such care is delivered, including hospitals, client’s own homes, nursing homes and day centres.


A full assessment will take place to ensure you have the skills to complete the qualification. However this qualification will best suit individuals who have a keen interest in providing excellent health and social care. In addition, candidates who undertake a health and social care apprenticeship at level 3 will likely have some prior experience in a healthcare environment.
