Philosophy and Ethics GCSE at Ormskirk School

Course description

Philosophy and Ethics is a GCSE course which offers an exciting and relevant opportunity for students to consider responses to fundamental questions of life. Students will develop their knowledge of the beliefs, values and traditions of Christianity and explore how Christians respond to pertinent moral and philosophical issues raised by human and religious experience. Pupils will look at Philosophy and Ethics from a Christian perspective. Over the two years students will follow the: 'OCR Religious Studies B - Philosophy and Ethics, Full course 1931'.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in Religious Studies or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification. With further training, you could go into a job related to religious studies or the more general social sciences such as a Social Worker, Teacher or Youth Worker. You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
