ICT - Level 3 OCR Cambridge Technicals at Whitefield School

Course description

Studying ICT gives you the knowledge and understanding to use a variety of software packages which are commonly used in all lines of business, education, retail and industry. In addition you will gain an understanding of how the recent advances in technology, and the world of work and leisure affect us all.

Entry requirements

Students need to have studied at least 5 GCSEs A-C including English and Maths at a C grade and a Pass at level 2 in the OCR Cambridge Nationals in ICT or grade C and above at GCSE.


Students will be assessed on completing assignments set, and will be marked by their teacher throughout the course. Assignments will then be externally assessed by an external examiner. Assignments may take the form of: a project, a case study, a report, a presentation or a role-play

Future opportunities

It will equip students for a career in a wide range of industries, or allow them to study for a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Multimedia or Information Management. It also prepares students for the world of work or OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Industry Diploma in IT is recognised qualification with universities and valued by employers, such as Software Designers, Web Developers and Software Developer.
