Business Applied A2 at University Academy Keighley
Welcome to Applied Business. This unique AS and A2 course gives students first hand experience at how businesses work, by applying theoretical knowledge to real life situations This is a hands on course which will prepare students for their working lives.
The aim of this course is to enable students to:Develop knowledge and understanding of business through the investigation of a range of business organisations.Prepare for employment, further/higher education or training in a business environment.
The quality of provision and teaching is exceptional with subject specialist teachers.
If you have completed GCSE Applied Business, a grade C or above is required. If you have not studied GCSE Applied Business, a good grade D or above in Mathematics and English Language is required.
Unit 8 (33.3%)
Business Planning : In this unit, you will have the opportunity to produce a structured business plan for a business proposal. A business plan is the essential document that is required to evaluate whether a business proposal will work. The business proposal could be for a new business or an existing business that wishes to expand or diversify its product range (goods or services).
Unit 11 (33.3%)
Marketing Environment : In this unit, you will investigate why marketing activities (introduced in Unit 1 AS) are vital to the achievement of business aims and objectives.You investigate how businesses gather data about the marketing environment and you will develop your ability to to justify appropriate marketing strategies.
Unit 15 (33.3%)Financial Accounting for Managers: In this unit, you will learn to understand the fundamental accounting concepts and terminology that is used in accounting. This will explain a number of accounting procedures: for example, why profit and cash are different (eg accruals, realisation, etc).
