Sport Technician Coaching - Level 2 Apprenticeship at Middlesbrough College
Apprenticeships allow 16 plus year olds to start work and earn a wage, while learning new skills that lead to nationally recognised qualifications. Apprenticeships are designed with the help of employers in the industry, so they offer a structured programme that takes Apprentices through the skills needed to do a job well. Most of an Apprentice's training takes place on the job but they will also have to complete off-the-job training within the College. If you would like to combine employment in the Sport and active leisure sector with acquiring a qualification, you can undertake an apprenticeship. On an apprenticeship you will combine working and receiving a wage whilst studying towards a qualification. You will normally attend college one day a week whilst gaining valuable, practical experience in the workplace. You will work towards an apprenticeship framework. This includes the following :- NVQ Level 2 in Sport Technician Coaching, a Level 2 Technical Certificate and a level 2 Functional Skills Qualification. The NVQ will be assessed in your workplace; the other elements of the framework are achieved through attendance at Middlesbrough College. Before being enrolled onto an apprenticeship programme, you will need to have a firm offer of employment secured. The college may be able to assist you with finding potential employers. The apprentice National Minimum Wage applies to all 16 to 18 year old apprentices and to those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. If the apprentice is aged 19 and / or has completed the first year of their Apprenticeship, the employer must pay the National Minimum Wage appropriate for their age. A breakdown of wage rates is available on the GOV.UK website.
