Information Technology BTEC Level 3 90 Credit Diploma at Lakes College West Cumbria

Course description

The Level 3 90 Credit Diploma in Information Technology is a one year course suitable for those who would like a qualification that will help them gain employment in the IT industry. This course will cover a range of different core IT concepts to equip students with relevant practical skills and knowledge. Units include: event driven programming, website production, computer systems, e-commerce, human computer interface, computer animation and computer networks.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs A*-C including English and Maths or Level 2 IT at Merit Grade or above

Financial information

Free to all 16-18 and 19-23 year olds who do not already have a full level 3 qualification e.g. 4 or more AS Levels or 2 A Levels. Advanced Learning Loans are available for further education courses at Level 3, 4 & 5. They operate like higher education loans with deferred payments until you earn over approximately £21, 000 per year. (Information available at -learning-loans/overview) You have the option of taking out a loan or setting up a payment plan with the college that best suits your needs.

Future opportunities

Once the 90 Credit Diploma is successfully completed, you may wish to continue on to complete the full Extended Diploma. Following this you can then progress onto an HNC/HND in Computing and Systems Development, university or employment. Successful completion of this qualification could lead to a variety of roles within games and web development and animation.
