Carpentry and Joinery Advanced Apprenticeship at Warrington & Vale Royal College

Course description

This programme is aimed at people who have achieved an NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Wood Occupations and are interested in gaining a higher level of qualification, to progress their learning to Level 3. This qualification will enhance your career and is recognised throughout the construction industry.

Course content

You will complete a framework of study involving:

  • NVQ level 3 Diploma in Wood Occupations - Site Carpentry
  • Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry
  • Employee rights and Responsibilities(ERR)
  • Functional Skills Level 2 Maths and English

Assessment

Assessment will be continuous throughout the programme and will consist of a combination of practical assessments, a job related knowledge assessment and external tests. Work based recorder evidence (in the form of a portfolio) will also be required to complete the framework. The final examination will be a paper based and will be marked externally.

Further information

As part of the apprenticeship, you are required to be employed and will get one day per week to attend College.

      By Bus: Warrington & Vale Royal College is easily accessible by bus from the town centre and nearby Cheshire districts. Bus numbers* 19, 20, 21, 22 from the Warrington Bus Station to Winwick Road Campus.
