Course description

Business Administration and IT Intermediate Diploma is designed for those who wish to pursue a career in secretarial/administration work. You will study Business Administration using a combination of practical workshops and tutor led sessions about how the modern office works and the role of the administrator in today’s business environment. Additionally, you will learn the skills that an administrator needs such as word processing and IT skills. Students have the opportunity to undertake a period of work experience.

Course content

Business and Administration – you will complete a number of units including:
Working in Administration
Written Business Communication
Communicate with Customers
Organise Business Travel and Accommodation
Handling Diary Systems
Various IT units will complement these in the Diploma, including spreadsheets, database, presentations, word, file management and email
Additionally, you will learn how to set out business documents

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at Grade D or above including English or a Level 1 qualification in Business Administration at Merit or Distinction, applicants will have to complete an initial assessment.

Assessment

Examinations are held throughout the year.  Some elements will be assessed via externally set and internally marked assignments.

Future opportunities

Employment in Business or Administration or you may progress onto the Advanced Diploma in Business Administration and IT.
