Sport Cambridge Technical Diploma Extended Diploma Level 3 at Saint Mary's College, Blackburn

Course description

If you love sport and would like to make a career of it, then the Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Sport will set you on the right track. Many of our past students have progressed into the sports industry through careers in teaching, sports rehabilitation, sports therapy, sports coaching or sports management. The Diploma is your passport to employment either directly or through the university route. This course will provide you with a valuable insight into all aspects of the sports industry with many of the units delivered in a practical way. The Sports Coaching Unit will assess your practical sports coaching skills and the Leadership in Sport Unit, where you will be leading potted sports skills to primary schools. Practical units Entry Requirements: A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade A*- C including English Language grade C. SPORT Cambridge Technical Diploma and Extended Diploma Level 3 Course Leaflet Entry 2014 include Team and Individual Sports and Physiology of Fitness. We will also study modules where you will be designing training and fitness programmes, assessing injuries in sport, sport performance analysis and organising sports events. In the second year there will be an opportunity for work experience within the sports sector. There is also an outdoor pursuit module where we will be studying outdoor activity provision within the outdoor sector, which will involve a residential stay at an outdoor activities centre.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C including English Language grade C.
