DanceAdvanced Level at William Brookes School

Course description

We now teach Dance at William Brookes School which offers
students a practical option in the Sixth Form. There is a focus on
all the constituent features of dance including physical setting,
aural setting, costume, movement vocabulary and choreographic
devices. In addition, there is a strong focus on the dancer in
action including physiology and anatomy and studio practice.
If you would like to follow this course you do not need to have
GCSE Dance, but it would be beneficial. Interest and enjoyment
in performing is essential as is the enthusiasm to watch and
analyse professional dance works. A level of literacy that is
indicated by grade C or above in GCSE English for the written
