Cookery and Hospitality Apprenticeship Level 2 at Calderdale College

Course description

A qualification for people who are either working or want to work in the Catering Industry. This covers skill areas such as food preparation, food and drinks service.

Course content

There are a wide variety of jobs available within our industry and we can offer Apprenticeships that cover both food production and food and drink service.You will develop your skills and gaining great work based experience. You will also complete a technical certificate that will introduce you to the Principles of Hospitality and Catering and Functional Skills. You will be working as a chef in a restaurant kitchen and the qualification will cover:

  • Food Preparation
  • Food Production
  • Cooking
  • Customer Service
  • Food Safety

Entry requirements

All applicants will be interviewed and assessed for suitability by a Training Officer.  Applicants will be expected to be in relevant employment with the support of an employer who can offer work that supports NVQ completion; however those without an employer will be given job seeking assistance by the Training Officer.


Students will be assessed in the workplace
