Mathematics at Brixham College
Mathematics is more than just problem solving. It is the universal language of engineering, physical and biological sciences and the social sciences. You will learn how to model the relationships between variables and, having solved the resulting equations you will communicate the results.
Compulsory topics include algebra and functions, coordinate geometry, sequences and series, exponentials and logarithms and an introduction to calculus.
Topics in applied mathematics will be selected from statistics, mechanics and decision mathematics. The applied mathematics units will be chosen in response to the needs of the students in the group.
To join our Sixth Form you will have a minimum of 5 A*-C grade GCSEsincluding Maths and English. Preferably a grade B or higher in the subjects you wish to study
