General Construction Skills (Level 1) Diploma at Tresham College of Further and Higher Education
You will learn the basic vocational skills that will lead to a career in any of the main trade occupations including bricklaying, plastering, carpentry, painting and plumbing.
This course gives you general training in construction skills including health & safety and provides experience in four construction trades: - brickwork - plastering - carpentry & joinery - painting & decorating.
A range of GCSEs at F or above including English and preferably maths or equivalent OR an entry level course with good evidence of ability to achieve at a higher level.
Coursework is assessed through a combination of practical workshop assessments, written assignments and end of unit exams.
You will need to purchase your own personal protective equipment for the course (PPE) approx. £30.
This course will prepare you for progression onto Level 1 study programmes in Bricklaying, Carpentry, Plastering or Painting and Decorating. Alternatively Level 2 study programme in General Construction Skills.
