Physics A level at Abbey College, Ramsey

Course description

The course, developed by the Institute of Physics, aims to explore physics ideas and methods. Students have the opportunity to develop their critical thinking skills and understanding through study of both traditional and contemporary approaches.

Course content

The course includes the most recent developments in smart materials, communication and imaging techniques as well as the origins of the universe and particle physics. Advancing Physics successfully combines both theoretical and practical activities within each topic.

Entry requirements

Minimum grade B in Science and Maths. Students will need to take FSMQ Maths if they are not taking AS Maths.

Future opportunities

Physics provides a route to higher education not only in physics itself, but in many related subjects such as medicine, physiotherapy, sports science, materials science and many others. It is a highly respected AS and A2 subject and will support many areas of study.
