Information Technology (Software Development) Extended Diploma Level 3 at Bradford College

Course description

This new and exciting course will equip you with the skills to create imaginative software applications including apps for Android and IOS devices.

You will be taught a range of different programming languages that are widely sought after in both the IT industry and at universities.

This course will introduce you to the basic concepts of programming and guide you through the whole software development process.

Course content

The course is made up of the following six Mandatory Units and 12 Optional Units.

  • Communication and Employability Skills for IT
  • Computer Systems
  • Information Systems
  • Software Design and Development
  • Systems Analysis and Design
  • Event Driven Programming.

Entry requirements

You will need at least four GCSEs at Grade A*-C including English and Mathematics or an equivalent full Level 2 IT qualification at Merit and GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C or above.

Assessment

The course is assessed through a portfolio evidence that is completed throughout the year.
