Sports Development (Level 3) at Worthing College
Apprentices will complete a combination of qualifications that develop competence, knowledge and skills. Example units include:-
- Provide leadership in sport and active leisure.
- Lead and motivate volunteers.
- Manage a Project.
Applicants will normally have achieved a mix of A levels and/or other qualifications such as BTEC Level 3 courses. Applicants will have also normally completed English, IT and Maths GCSE at grade C or above (or equivalent qualifications e.g Functional Skills Level 2).
Applicants may have also completed a previous apprenticeship at Level 2. Previous Sports Development experience would be desirable although not essential.
Dependent on career progression and role successful apprentices could undertake a Management apprenticeship at Level 3 or 4.
There are a number of Sports Development or sports studies degrees offered at UK or overseas Higher Education Institutions.
Sports Development positions could be available in various sectors, e.g Education or Leisure.
