Sport BTEC Level 2 First Diploma at Chelmsford College

Course description

This qualification aims to motivate learners to consider a career in the sports sector, giving an opportunity to gain a broad knowledge and develop skills for the sporting industry. This course centres on the learner applying sport in both a theoretical and practical environment. You will learn about human performance in sport and how sport is provided by the various agencies in the UK. You will be able to participate and evaluate your sporting performance, whilst also being able to identify and understand the differing strands of the industry.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 2 GCSEs grade D or above or successful achievement at a Level 1 vocational course.


Learners are assessed throughout the course through a variety of activities including assignment work, presentations, exams and practical activities.

      The campus also houses a Learning Centre, Skills Development Centre, Assessment Centre, Tutorial Centre, a Copyshop and Refectory. Situated on the grounds of this campus are Dovedale Nursery and Dovedale Sports Centre.
