Course description

This course gives students an introduction to the knowledge and skills needed to work in Motor Vehicle repair and related fields.

Course content

Students learn through a combination of taught classes and practical workshop activities.The course consists of 6 units, including 2 mandatory units:Health and SafetyEngineering Equipment and Materials

Entry requirements

No experience of Motor Vehicle studies is required before starting the course.  Learners will need to demonstrate both academic ability to work at the required level and an interest and commitment to Motor Vehicle repair.

Assessment

The nature of the course means that students will need to provide their own personal protective equipment.  Students will not be allowed to enter the workshops without appropriate footwear i.e safety boots and overalls.This course is run at Park Lane College Keighley as part of the Three Valleys Partnership. Future opportunities

Succesful students can progress to a full-time Motor Vehicle Studies course or an apprenticeship
