Performing Arts Level 3 Extended Diploma at Banbury and Bicester College

Course description

Learn a range of performance and theatre techniques so you can grow as a performer and producer. The Extended Diploma in Performing Arts is ideal preparation for university or drama school. It builds your core skills in acting, singing, dancing and directing, so you can aim for a career in the performing arts sector.

Course content

With its focus on live performance and practical workshops, this course covers subjects which include:
• acting
• musical theatre
• dance
• stage management
• script writing
• devising theatre
• business and employment in performing arts
• costume design
• movement
• vocal skills

You also get the opportunity to study an AS-level in either dance, theatre studies, media, photography, art or graphic design. You will study functional skills too.

Assessment takes place throughout the course based on individual and group assignments, with an element of external examination. Functional skills and AS-level qualifications are assessed by coursework and external examination.

Entry requirements

5 or more GCSEs grades A*-C including English and maths
BTEC level 2 Diploma grade Merit or Distinction plus GCSE grade C or above or Functional Skills at level 2 in English and maths

      • From the M40, leave the motorway at Junction 11 and leave roundabout onto A422.
      • Continue down A422 and leave roundabout onto A361, Southam Road. Turn left on A361 (Southam Road) on to Horse Fair.
      • Leave the roundabout onto B4035, West Bar Street. Follow West Bar Street on to Broughton Road and the main entrance to the campus is on the right hand side.

      The Banbury Campus is approximately 15-20 minutes walk from the train and bus station.
