Who is the course suitable for? Anyone who has an interest in pursuing a career in the Travel Industry, especially in areas such as Tour Operations, Hotels, Airlines and Travel Agencies. Information about the course The BTEC National Award in Travel and Tourism combines a mixture of travel related subjects. Course Content 6 units (split over the two years) Investigating Travel and Tourism The Business of Travel and Tourism The UK as a Destination Customer service in Travel and Tourism The European Travel Market Retail and Business Travel Operations There will be several day trips as part of this course examples of these are: Madame Tussauds, Luton Airport, Thorpe Park & London Zoo There may also be an opportunity for students to join in college residentials e.g: Year 1 Short Haul - Barcelona Year 2 Long Haul - New York How is the course examined or assessed? A Portfolio of work

Future opportunities

Further study – HND in Travel & Tourism or equivalent Degree Possible careers – Travel agents, airline customer services, tour operator, flight attendants and holiday reps. You will follow this course with two or three other AS levels or an Advanced Diploma and, additionally, the compulsory core such as PSHE, RE, PE/Games
