Start of a work-based Level 2 NVQ Apprenticeship career that can lead onto employment as a Vehicle Refinishing Technician for applicants who successfully complete the course. Use of measuring equipment required in vehicle refinishing. Vehicle preparation to accept foundation paint coats. Mixing of foundation paint coats. Application of foundation paint coats. Health and safety awareness in a vehicle refinishing workshop. Working within groups and as an individual. Responsibilities for personal actions taken.
Applicants should expect to obtain or have GCSE's at Grade D or above, in English, Mathematics, Technology and a Science. But more importantly they must want to pursue a career in the vehicle repair industry.
For learners age 16 to 25 on an Apprenticeship programme, training costs are usually met by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC). Apprentices in work placements are paid a training allowance.
The course offers you a specialist work-based qualification to support progression to a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship and fully qualified status as a Vehicle Refinishing Technician. With further training, you could continue to develop your career into workshop Supervisor or Manager. The course is work-based which means you can earn and learn at the same time whilst developing the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers are looking for.
