Course description

This course provides a good grounding and a comprehensive introduction to floristry with an emphasis on practical skills, backed up by some classroom work and theory.

Course content

This course provides you with a comprehensive introduction to Floristry.

Course Themes:

• Identification and use of foliage and plants

• Floristry designs for gifts and occasions (weddings and christenings)

• Display and construction techniques

• Floristry industry and organisations

• Work experience to gain practical experience within the business environment

• English and maths  

Entry requirements

Level 2 Study Programmes:

Usually at least 4 GCSEs at grade 3 (old GCSE grade D) or above to include two from Maths, English and Science with at least a grade 2 (old GCSE grade E) in the remaining subject. Alternatively a suitable Level 1 vocational qualification with English and Maths at Level 1.


Assessment mainly through assignment work and practical evidence.
