Technology: Graphics GCSE at Sir Harry Smith Community College

Course description

The course involves the use of drawing, colouring, rendering and modelling to produce items such as displays and packaging. Varied materials are used for modelling products. They need to display the use of a range of hand drawn graphic techniques.Coursework constitutes 60% and the terminal examination 40% of the GCSE.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in Design and Technology or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification. With further training, you could go into a job related to Design and Technology and Electronics such as an Technician, Electrician or Design Engineer. You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
