Course content:

The Project is an exciting new qualification for students with a range of abilities and interests. It en-ables you to demonstrate independent learning skills through an in depth study of your choice! Previous students projects have included, making an animation or film trailer, investigation into whether the police should be armed, the importance of technology in improving sporting perfor-mance, the role of the media and eating disorders, making a fashion garment for a particular brief.

Assessment:

 Students work with a tutor/assessor as well as working independently to plan, manage, complete and evaluate a single piece of work.  The extended project is a level 3 qualification and is worth half a GCE i.e AS equivalent. It is graded A-E and carries up to 60 UCAS points  You can produce a dissertation, and investigation or fieldwork, a performance or an artefact as a final outcome for assessment.  This means great flexibility for you and a personalised curriculum.

Entry requirements

You will need a minimum of five GCSE passes at grade C including English. You also need an en-thusiasm to work on a project of your choice having discussed and agreed it first with your teacher.
