Business Cambridge Technical Introductory Diploma (Level 3) at The Piggott School

Course description

On successful completion of a CTEC Diploma in Business, students may progress into employment or continue their study in Business at a higher level. CTEC qualifications are designed to provide specialist work - related qualifications in a range of sectors. On the Business Qualification students will learn through a range of business related activities based both in the classroom and where possible in the workplace. These activities include producing written reports, guidance documents, role plays, presentations and possibly work experience. Both CTEC Business qualifications help to develop knowledge and understanding of business and provide opportunities for students to gain technical and employability skills, knowledge and understanding which are transferable and will enable individuals to meet changing circumstances. Students will gain a nationally recognised qualification to enter employment or progress onto higher education.

Entry requirements

Minimum GCSE entry requirements : Points requirement is met for Entry to Sixth Form in addition to Grade C in English Language


The assessment of CTEC in Business is portfolio based and allows learners to receive feedback on their progress throughout the course as they provide evidence towards the grading criteria. Evidence for assessment may be generated through a range of diverse activities including assignment and project work, case studies, workplace assessments, role play and oral presentation.
