Early Years Education and Care Level 2 at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College

Course description

The CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Early Years Education & Care . It prepares you to work with children and their families in a variety of settings and environments within the Early Years sector. The qualification will build and develop the necessary practical skills and understanding to provide learners with a firm grounding in the principles of children's care for progression into possible employment or level 3.

Course content

There are 14 mandatory units in the Certificate.You will attend a variety of settings arranged by the college to fulfill the 250 hours required placement hours.

Entry requirements

Aged 16+ with a minimum of: Certificate: 4 Grade D passes at GCSE level;(including Maths and English) All students are required to have an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS), this will be arranged by the college following interview

Assessment

All assessment is through portfolio building which is built up from assignment work & placement tasks.

Financial information

You will require stationery equipment, uniform, which is to be worn whilst in placement, and text books.

We offer a bursary that students can apply for help with costs that are associated with a course. This could be help with the cost of travel, books, materials, equipment, uniforms, childcare and examination and registration fees. Future opportunities

Successful completion of this course enables you to apply for either/or a Level 3 Child Studies course or Health & Social Care Course subject to Math’s and English grades.Or possible Employment such as Nursery Assistant.

Further information

1 year plan to complete the full certificate. Excellent attendance is required both in College and in the practical placement. Learners are required to attend all lectures.
