Hair, Beauty and Related Studies - Diploma in Nail Technology (Level 3) at Hopwood Hall College

Course description

This is an advanced qualification for those who aspire to, or currently work within the nail industry.
 
You will study nail extension systems (UV gel/liquid/wraps) as well as advanced techniques in airbrush nail design.
 
Students will get the opportunity to develop the skills learned in the classroom in our own commercial Riverside Salon.

Course content

• Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon
• Enhance and maintain nails using UV gel/liquid/wraps
• Airbrush design for nails
• Design and apply nail art
• Explore technological developments
• Create an Image based on a theme
• Competition work

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs grade C or above to include English and Mathematics OR BTEC Level 2 qualification OR NVQ Level 2 OR VRQ Level 2.

Financial information

No cost for 16-19 year olds.

After completing this course the next stage is to progress onto the VRQ Level 4 Salon Management (at Hopwood Hall), Higher Education or employment.

      The Rochdale campus is 2.6 miles from junction 20 of the M62. Follow the signs for Rochdale town centre
      By Rail:
      Rochdale train station, with frequent connections to Leeds, Bradford and Manchester, is a ten minute walk from the Rochdale Campus through the town centre. It is also a Metrolink station, Manchester’s light railway system, which links Rochdale with Oldham, Bury and Manchester City Centre.
      By Bus: 
      The Rochdale bus station is approximately 5 minutes walk from the Rochdale campus. There are frequent bus services throughout the borough which terminate in Rochdale.
