Art and Design - BTEC Level 3 at Ashton Community Science College

Course description

The BTEC National Diploma in Art and Designs a course, focuses on the completion of assignments. There are no exams to take, but you must complete all assignments to at least a pass level in order to achieve the qualification.

Assessment

100% continually assessed coursework. All graded – Pass (C), Merit (B), Distinction (A) or Fail. Your overall grade for BTEC First Certificate/Extended Certificate in Art and Design is calculated from the total number of pass, merit and distinction grade assignments that you have completed. Your teacher will issue you a timetable for each unit of when you should have completed your different assignments. Your teacher will set you an assignment at the end of each topic. A selection of assignments from your class will be put through internal verification (IV). This means that another member of staff will check the way the assignment has been assessed to make sure that all pupils are completing work to the correct standard.
