Chemistry A2 at South Wirral High School

Course description

At AS/A2 the Department offers OCR Human Biology, OCR Chemistry, OCR Physics and BTEC level 3 Applied Science.

The department is proud of its examination results but we always strive to achieve better.

Entry requirements

GCSE Grade B or above in Additional Science, or Grade B or above in GCSE Chemistry along with the commitment to put in the required work outside the classroom. GCSE Grade C or above in Mathematics

Assessment

Unit 1 - F321

  • Externally set and marked
  • 30% of total GCE AS mark
  • 1 hour written paper
  • 60 marks

Unit 2 - F322

  • Externally set and marked
  • 50% of total GCE AS mark
  • 1 hour 45 minute written paper
  • 100 marks

Unit 3 - Coursework


  • Externally set tasks
  • Internally marked and externally moderated
  • 20% of total GCE AS marks
  • 40 marks
